Accessibility Statement
How this website is built to work for every visitor, and where we know we still have work to do.
Who this statement is for
This covers livicode.com — the marketing and enquiry website for Livicode Tech Solutions Ltd. It does not cover client sites we've built for others, which each have their own accessibility position agreed with that client.
Livicode Tech Solutions Ltd is a private company, not a public-sector body, so the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018 don't legally apply to this site. We're publishing this statement voluntarily, in the same spirit we ask our own clients to be honest about their accessibility position rather than just asserting compliance.
What we've built in
Every page on this site is built against WCAG 2.2 AA as a design input, not an afterthought. Specifically:
- Colour contrast is measured, not assumed — see the actual ratios on our brand style guide.
- A "skip to main content" link on every page, and a visible, never colour-only focus ring on every interactive element.
- The navigation mega-menu, borough network map, FAQ accordions and multi-step consultation form are all fully keyboard-operable, not just mouse/touch.
- Auto-scrolling content (the "Trusted by" and partner-school marquees) always has a visible pause control, starts paused automatically if your device has requested reduced motion, and — on a touch device — scrolls normally instead of auto-scrolling.
- Form fields have properly associated labels, and validation errors are announced to assistive technology, not just shown in colour.
- Body text is set in Public Sans — GOV.UK's own typeface, chosen for its legibility record — rather than a generic system font.
- Meaningful images carry descriptive alt text; purely decorative ones are hidden from assistive technology.
What we haven't done yet
We build accessibility in from the first wireframe, but we haven't run a full automated scan (axe-core/Lighthouse) plus manual screen-reader and keyboard pass across every page of the live site yet — the same standard we hold every client build to, and which our own style guide already flags as outstanding. Until that's done, treat this as our honest current position rather than a tested conformance claim.
A small number of images fall back to a third-party source (Unsplash) if our own copy fails to load — we haven't independently audited that provider's own accessibility.
